The League of Women (LWV) Manistee County is honored to be hosting the LWV Lake Michigan Regions annual conference on October 25-26, 2024.  All local and state Leagues surrounding Lake Michigan are part of this organization: Leagues in Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan comprise this inter-League organization know as the League of Women Voters of the Lake Michigan Region (LWVLMR).  This organization works to study and protect the water of Lake Michigan.  This year LWVLMR has chosen the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan in Manistee to hold their annual conference, titled “Preserving & Protecting Lake Michigan: Restoration, Climate & Line 5”.  It will be a hybrid format-attend in person or via Zoom.  Manistee LWV president Nancy Behring said, "If you're concerned about environmental policies that impact the Great Lakes Region this is the conference for you.”  The conference events will be held at the West Shore Community College Manistee Campus on River Street.  There is a fee to attend.  For more information about this conference go to: lwvlmr.org
